What is “prayer”? Prayer is simply “having an intimate conversation with God” by not only talking to Him, but listening to Him as well. It doesn't have to be kneeling by your bed right before you go to sleep at night. It can be at any time, any place, about any topic, for any reason, alone or with anyone else too. It can be with words, in tears, in the spirit, in the mind, or in the body, or in any way. You can be in a coma, asleep, or in any number of conditions. You can even be a horrible sinner, and God can still hear you and speak to you!
God is able to hear your prayers whether you're on an airplane, in a car, or in a submarine at the bottom of the ocean, or even in your dreams while you are sleeping. That's because God is not bound by the physical world around us, but rather is near and dear to us as He keeps His promises that He will never leave us or forsake us. Since the Blood of Jesus washes our sins -- past - present - future -- completely away by His sacrifice on the cross, we are able to boldly approach His throne of grace and present our needs to Him directly without going through anyone else.
There are times when praying for or with someone else, or having someone pray for you is appropriate, fitting, and encouraged. For example, God tells us in James 5:14-16 (NKJV) that we are to pray together if someone is sick:
“Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.”
We would be happy to have someone pray with you if you are sick or injured. We also appreciate you remembering the ministry in your prayers as well. Simply use the "Contact Us" link button on the side bar to get in touch with someone. Although anyone in our ministry would be happy to pray for you, James Zaleta has volunteered to take the first call if you want to speak with someone directly.
Has God gifted you with the gift of intercessory prayer for others? Perhaps you would like to become part of a prayer team to be able to reach out to others in their time of need.
